About Mortgage by County
Mortgage by County turns the federal record of mortgage applications into answers a home buyer can use: what people in your county earned and borrowed, how much they put down, what rate and loan costs they paid, how often applications were denied, which lenders were most active — and the loan limits that apply this year.
The HMDA 2025 edition analyzes 7,155,718 home-purchase, refinance and cash-out applications from 4,470 lenders (data released June 23, 2026), together with the official 2026 FHFA and HUD loan limits for all 3,144 counties.
Independent and not a lender
We do not make loans, broker loans or sell leads, and lenders cannot pay to change their figures or placement. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the CFPB, the FFIEC, FHFA, HUD, or any lender named on this site. The site is funded by advertising.
How we keep it honest
- Every figure is computed from public source files, with the method published on the methodology page and every file listed on sources.
- We publish medians only when enough loans support them, and compare loan types separately.
- The derived tables are free to download on open data.
